The Mirror Reflecting The Camera.
Image and you, camera and me, this is a relationship, not only an image or a tool.
People on the road, bus, train, toilet, restroom, office, etc., are all suffocated by images.
We are watching and seeing the image and be seen and watched from everywhere at all times in the same time. The image was produced for serving the observer’s seeing, it feed the need of seeing from observer, also it feed the maker’s production.
This kind of relationship shrink the power of viewer and also the producer simultaneously.
The camera is the wings for seeing one’s spirit, here, the artist Lin Yu Hsi raised the lens to meet the mirror from the heart, second by second, minute by minute, day by day, year by year, this became a relationship, the artist subsided gradually, become a server for her own relationship, the need to be seen and seeing by herself.
The camera in the mirror, the mirror in the camera, they need each other’s presence or they might disappear. Through the process of sorting the image produced from “ the camera capturing the mirror, the mirror reflecting the camera” the camera operator’s appearance was slowly put together as a silhouette, and the dialogue became vivid. This action lets the artist objectively observe “ the camera capturing the mirror, the mirror reflecting the camera” this kind of relationship of seeing and being seen in the end.
By sorting out the output image of the year from 2018 to 2024 of “ the camera capturing the mirror, the mirror reflecting the camera”,
the artist is healed, regains power, and rebuilds the esteem of herself.

影像與你，相機與我，這是一種關係，絕非僅僅是工具或是物品。
路上、公車上、火車上、
廁所裡、辦公室裡……，
各種場域都充斥著影像，
隨時隨地都在觀看也在被觀看，
隨時隨地毫無意識地觀看，
影像產出，服務觀者，
隨之也餵養觀者的觀看。
相機是直視內心的契機，
創作者舉起鏡頭迎上內心，
過程裡，主體漸漸消逝，
成為此關係的服務對象。
鏡子裡的相機，
相機裡的鏡子，
他們互相需要著。
藉由關係裡所輸出的影像，
拼湊創作者在”拍攝這面鏡子的這台相機，
反射這台相機的這面鏡子”裡的樣貌，
客觀的觀看這陷入服務自己
觀看與被觀看的關係，
凝視這段關係的存在。

成為創作者面對現實世界裡的真實世界，
一幅幅的爬梳過程是療程也是給予自己力量。
